GRADUATION CAP AND GOWNS… LAST CALL FOR ORDERS: If you have not ordered your cap and gown for graduation, the deadline is TOMORROW, May 15^th. You can order by phone at 775.626.4944. After this deadline, you will need to call to make special arrangements since delivery is set for May 21^st.

ONLINE REGISTRATION: Registration for the 2026-27 school year is open for all guardians on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. It is a requirement that every parent does online registration to ensure proper student placement and to ensure we have correct emergency information on file. If you need assistance with Infinite Campus passwords, please call the Wooster main office 775.321.3160. If this is your first time doing online registration, please schedule an appointment with Araceli Ramirez for assistance.

SPRING IMMUNIZATION CLINIC: Wooster will be hosting the Northern Nevada Public Health for a Spring School Vaccination Clinic on Thursday, May 28^th. Please see the attached flyer to schedule your appointment. Limited number of walk-ins are available. Students who are not up to date on the mandatory vaccinations by the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year, will not be allowed to start on the first day of school. Not sure if your student needs a vaccine? Please call our Wooster School Clinic to find out.

ATHLETIC PHYISCAL CLEARANCE NIGHT: Any student from WCSD that is interested in playing a sport in the 2026-27 are invited to our Athletic Physical Clearance on Thursday, May 28^th from 4pm-8pm in our Large Gym. Cost is only $25.

WOOSTER COMMUNITY SHOWCASE: Save the date for May 28^th! This will be a showcase of what all our students (YOUR students!) have accomplished this year and what is possible for them to do here at Wooster. Bring the family and have a fun evening full of prizes, activities, and food trucks! Please see flyer on the website for more details.

SUMMER SCHOOL: Counselors are meeting with students and signing them up for summer school if they need it for graduation. Summer school will run from June 15th through July 3rd. There will be a morning session from 8AM to 11AM and a second session from 11:30AM to 2:30PM. Students will have the opportunity to earn one credit. If you have any questions about summer school or want to sign up your student, please reach out to their school counselor.

FINAL GRADES: If your student is at risk of failing one or more classes, please contact their school counselor and discuss ways to stay on track and graduate on time. You can see your child’s grades by logging into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

WOOSTER QUARTER AUCTION: May 16th is our Wooster Quarter Auction put on by the Boosters and the Athletic Department. We have lots of great items; from gift cards to gear; authentic Wooster Sideline Chairs to an Autographed photo of Ric Flair. This auction has a little something for everyone and promises to be a great time. A Quarter Auction is low pressure, fun, exciting, and you could walk away with some great prizes. All for only a quarter! See attached flyer for details.

FROM THE LIBRARY: We are coming to the end of the school year and need to collect ALL school and library books that students have, and ANY technology that needs to be returned at the end of this year. Library books can be returned to library. Textbooks and English novels can go to the teacher or be brought to the library. The library will also take any books, textbooks or technology that a student has from another Washoe County School, and we will return them to that school for you.

CLASS OF 2026: A reminder to all parents of senior students to please refer to the Senior Letter that was emailed to you on May 1^st. This has all end of the year and graduation information that is vital to a successful commencement day. Please contact Niki Jahoda at niki.jahoda@washoeschools.net if you need the letter.

PIZZA TO SUPPORT WOOSTER: Leadership needs your help! This Sunday, May 17th, we will be having a fundraiser at Mod Pizza on Virginia St.! Bring your friends and family any time of the day to enjoy some pizza and support Leadership! AP AND IB TESTING: Monday, May 4th, marks the beginning of 20 days of AP and IB testing at Wooster. You can access the testing calendar here: https://wooster.washoeschools.net/academics/testing

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK: Wooster is so fortunate to have some of the most dedicated staff members in the district to support our students and families. Staff Appreciation Week is the week of May 4^th. If you or your student has been positively impacted by a staff member at Wooster, be sure to let them know.

CLASS OF 2026: Graduation is approaching. All guardians of senior students will receive a letter tomorrow, May 1^st regarding Graduation information and important senior dates leading up to our commencement ceremony on June 11^th at Lawlor Events Center. Seniors will receive the same letter in their classes next week and in their email.

ACCESS TESTING: Students that are designated at English Language Learners (EL) will begin annual district testing on January 12^th. Students will be called to test at intermitted times.

ACT DAY: Mark your calendars for ACT Testing Day on February 24^th. This is a graduation requirement for all 11^th graders and some 12^th graders who have not already completed the exam. Only required test takers will be on campus that day. Stay tuned for more details.

2026-2027 COURSE SELECTION: Counselors will be visiting English classes, starting the week of January 26th, and having students select their courses for next school year. Please let your counselor know if you have any questions or concerns regarding graduation requirements or the classes selected.

ATTENDANCE IS IMPROVING: We have seen some progress in student tardies in the past few weeks. Thank you for all your support at home and making sure students arrive at school before 8:00am. Students with multiple unexcused tardies will be required to attend lunch detention.

FINAL EXAMS: Finals are approaching, and that means any missing assignments must be completed and turned in as soon as possible. Log into Infinite Campus and check your students’ progress grades, missing assignments, and attendance to see where they stand. If you need help logging in, call or stop by our main office for assistance.

FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE: Please see the finals schedule under "Latest News" starting the week of December 15^th. It will be early release of 12:10pm from December 16^th – 18^th.

OFF CAMPUS LUNCH REMINDER: Please remind your students that 9^th and 10^th graders are not permitted to leave campus during lunch. If you would like your child to leave campus for lunch, a parent/guardian needs to come sign them out and then sign them back in. Calls for off campus passes are not permitted.

DENTAL CLINIC: We are excited to bring the Sagebrush Smiles Mobile Dental Clinic to our campus again, providing free dental care for students through our school-based program. Our mission is to increase access to preventive dental services, reduce untreated dental disease, and support overall student health and learning readiness. The program is available for all students and includes screenings, fluoride varnish, dental sealants, emergency care, and additional preventive treatments, all based on each student’s comfort and behavioral tolerance. Please see the attached consent forms.

FROM THE COUNSELING DEPARTMENT: As the seasons change and the weather gets colder, reach out to our school social worker, Ms. Paige, if your student needs anything.

TEMPORARY MAIN OFFICE ENTRANCE: Just a reminder that we have a temporary entrance to the main office that faces the West Parking Lot (facing Harvard Way) until further notice. We will send out communication when the entrance is changed back. Thank you for your patience.

SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:00AM: Please have your student on campus no later than 7:55am to ensure they are in class before the 8:00am bell. We have had numerous students having to attend lunch detention due to excessive tardies. Thank you for your support.

BOYS SOCCER PLAYOFFS: Our boys have made it to the playoffs! We will be playing either Damonte Ranch or Hug (that game will be played on Saturday). Come see our game this Tuesday! Playoff tickets are $13 for adults, $6 for students, under 8 are in for free. NO CASH accepted at the door. You have to go to hometown ticketing. We will also be hosting a BBQ at the game. Check social media for more information!

FALL BREAK: Please mark your calendars that we will have no school the week of October 6^th and will resume, Tuesday October 14^th. Our office will be closed to the public but we will be available by phone and email.

FROM THE MATH DEPARTMENT: This year, all math classes will include a midterm exam to support long-term learning. Reviews will be provided, and exams will take place the week before or after fall break, depending on pacing. Midterms count for 5% of the grade and are part of the Final Exam/Midterm category (15% total). Students should see or email their teachers for any questions.

COLLEGE FAIR: Mark your calendars for the WCSD College Fair that will take place on October 19^th. Please see attached flyer for details.

PSAT: The PSAT/NMSQT serves multiple purposes. For all students, the test measures knowledge and skills in ELA and mathematics shown by research to be essential for college and career readiness and success. Scores are used to help identify students who are on track for college and students ready for or who should continue to take rigorous courses. When taken as an 11th grader only (third year of high school), the NMSQT identifies candidates for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and college scholarships. WCSD pays for all 10th grade students who wish to participate in the PSAT. Counselors and teachers will encourage grade students to participate in the NMSQT; 11th graders must pre-register with their school and pay a fee ($18, paid to school). All participating 11th graders should see our school bookkeeper Mrs. Scarlet Garzon by September 30th to register/pay for this assessment. The test will be administered on Wednesday October 22, 2025. Deadline to sign up is September 30th

SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:00AM: Our staff is concerned about the increase in late students for the first period of the day. Your child should be at school no later than 7:55am and IN CLASS learning at 8:00am. It is imperative your child is not late for school. If you have questions, please contact your child’s counselor or administrator.

MAKE UP PICTURE DAY: Did your student miss picture day in August? Don’t worry because Lifetouch will be at Wooster on September 23rd! Please see the attached flyer for details.

HOMECOMING WEEK: Homecoming week is here! Please see the attached flyer for Spirit Week. Our Homecoming Game will be Friday, September 19^th and our Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, September 20^th. Tickets can be purchased with our bookkeeper. Attendance will be checked before purchase.

WANT TO GET IN FREE TO GAMES? Students can get in free to all athletic games if they pay their $25 student activity fee. Students can visit the bookkeeper, Mrs. Garzon for details.

LOG INTO PARENT INFINITE CAMPUS: All guardians should be logging into their parent portal frequently to stay up to date on their student’s attendance and grades. Need portal assistance? Please contact our main office at 775-321-3160.

CHECKING OUT STUDENTS FROM SCHOOL: Please check your students’ schedule before coming to check out your student. If it is lunch time or they are in PE, it can take up to 20 minutes to locate the student and have them in the office. Also, please make sure you always have your ID to have your student released to you. If you do not have your ID, we will not release the student. Only parent/guardians or those on approved release can pick up students.

COLT COMMUNITY NIGHT/BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: Our annual Colt Community Night will take place Thursday, August 7th from 5-7:30pm here at Wooster High School. Meet our staff, get Infinite Campus assistance, and meet your students' teachers.

BELL SCHEDULE: Please see the attached bell schedule. Our first bell rings every morning at 7:55am. School ends at 2:30pm with early release on Wednesdays at 1:45pm.

CLASS SCHEDULES: Your students schedule is available to view your Infinite Campus parent and student portals on Tuesday, August 5th. If you cannot log in, please call the main office 775-321-3160 for assistance. If you need a class change, you will need to make an appointment with your counselor to do so.

OFFICE HOURS: During the school year, our office hours are 7:30am-3:30pm. You can call the attendance line and report an absence 24/7 at 775-321-3160 ext. 37090 or on your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

ATTENDANCE AND GRADES: All guardians are able to view attendance and grades on their Infinite Campus parent portal. It is extremely important to check this often, so you are aware of your students' progress through high school. Need assistance with your portal?
